ADMISSION:
A child must show evidence of a magical ability to receive a letter from Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Children without a magical ability will not be accepted into the school. Children normally have parents, who have Wizard blood, but if they only have muggle parents, or no parents at all, the letter will be accompanied by a person, not an owl.
THE LETTER:
The letter will either be accompanied by a person, or an owl. The letter is pretty thick, with the letter of acceptance, a ticket to the train, and a list of resources the child will need for their term. The letter clearly states term starts September first, you must have all of your resources, and that you have been accepted into Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There is only one letter per person, and the letter sealed with a maroon, wax stamp that has a capital 'H' on it. The letter will be resent if the seal is not broken. You must send tell to the Headmaster that you have accepted their invitation by July thirty first.
RESOURCES:
The child must have their books, parchment, quills, ink, a wand, some robes, and an animal of some sort. The animal must be portable--like a toad, an owl, a cat, or a mouse. If a child does not come to the school with the needed resources, they will be assigned a used resource by a teacher for their class. Every term has new resources, so you will receive a letter with the needed equipment. All of these items may be found in Diagon Alley, which exists in a Pub on a muggle street. Muggles to not go within the boundaries of the Pub.
ARRIVAL:
A child will receive a ticket from the letter of acceptance into Hogwarts. They must go to the King's Cross Station in London, and to the platform nine and three quarters. They must arrive promptly at eleven am and they must change into their robes on the way to the school. A candy cart goes around the train, offering magical sweets to the children. The train will leave you if you are running late. The train comes to a stop at Hogsmeade Station, near Hogwarts when the moon is high. New students are ushered away to the boats, where they are sailed to the castle. Other students will ride carriages by creatures called Thestrals. These creatures are horse-like in structure, but have wings and consist of mostly bone. These animals cannot be seen unless you have seen death, since these creatures are undead. It has lead most kids to believe that the carriages merely pull themselves by magic. Students who have already been in Hogwarts sit in their seats and await the arrival of the new students. The new students must stay in a hall, behind the doors of the Great Hall and must wait a few moments before they are allowed inside. The Sorting Hat will sing a song and the sorting will begin. There are four houses to be chosen from: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Each are different in a special way. The hat will choose your House, not you. You will sit at your House's seat and dine until the Headmaster asks for complete silence. He/she will proceed to say a brief speech and then the male/female Prefect will lead a student to the House's male/female dorms.
HOUSES:
Each House is named after its founder's last name: Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff, and Rowena Ravenclaw. Each house sport a different personality, a color, and token. A token is something that the founders were very fond of. Godric had a sword, Salazar had a locket, Helga had a cup, and Rowena had a crown.
GRYFFINDOR
Gryffindor values bravery, daring, courage, nerve, and chivalry. The mascot of this house is a lion, with its colors being red and gold. The element of this house is fire, and the ghost of this house is Nearly Headless Nick. Gryffindor's common room (which leads to the male/female dorms) is in one of Hogwarts' highest towers, on the seventh level of the east wing of the castle, with it's entry being a painting of The Fat Lady, garbed in a pink dress. You must say the password, or you will not be let in (not until another Gryffindor comes with the password). The password will be changed periodically
SLYTHERIN
Slytherin values resourcefulness, ambition, and cunning. This mascot of this house is a serpent, with its being silver and green. The element of this house is water, and the ghost of this house is The Bloody Baron. Slytherin's common room (which leads to the male/female dorms) is in the dungeons, with it's entry being a bare stone wall. You must say the password, or you will not be let in (not until another Slytherin comes with the password). The password will be changed periodically.
TO BE EDITED.
